The infrastructure for nursing research in the Netherlands is fragile and struggling and postdoctoral nurses are confronted with limited career opportunities. Leadership Mentoring in Nursing Research program was developed to strengthen leadership and career development of postdoctoral nurses. The fellows evaluations were positive, describing changes in identity and leadership practices.
