This resource paper describes definitions of reflection and reflective practice, and their historical context, methods, processes, applications, benefits, and limitations. Recommendations are made regarding policy and research agenda items for reflective practice worldwide. In the spirit of inquiry and reflection, questions for exercising thought are included throughout this document. Recommendations are made to promote reflective practice in nursing worldwide.
