dc.description
Annual Simulation Conference. Held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center
en
dc.description.abstract
This highly interactive workshop will begin by having participants use a tool to score a student performance in a video recorded simulation. The discussion that follows will illuminate the challenges associated with using simulation for high stakes assessment. Next, participants will discuss best practices for simulation design, preparing the testing environment, implementation (including use of video), selection of evaluation tools, norming, and training raters. The results of the recently completed NLN Project to Explore the Use of Simulation for High Stakes Testing in Nursing Education will guide this part of the workshop. Additional practice in scoring video recordings of student performances and discussing the different challenges posed in each will follow. The conclusion of the workshop will focus on identifying the research that is needed to insure reliability, validity and currently known best practice to guide the various parts of the process.
en
