Special Session presented on: Tuesday, November 19, 2013:
The purpose of this session is to share the work of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International's (STTI) new global regions of Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and South America. Since 2011 the chapters outside the US have been networking within the new global regions to support STTI in its vision to become a truly global organization by 2020. The Coordinator of each region tries her best to foster collaborations among the chapters within the region itself. Each region has own path to map in order to achieve STTI's goal of becoming global. Each region is faced with unique challenges and opportunities. In this presentation we share the outcomes defined for the works of the new global regions by the regional coordinators themselves. We will present the progress made including our successes and challenges. We will reflect on our experiences and share our insights. At the end of this session each region will present own goals for future development, plans to raise awareness, and tentative schedule of future important activities, symposia or conferences in the coming biennium.
