As the specialty of forensic nursing grows and evolves, research, literature, and practice guidelines will support specialty and role expansion. Education on forensic nursing topics and concepts is essential as it forms the basis for certification. The webinar will provide an introduction to the fastest growing nursing specialty today. The past, present, and future of forensic nursing will be discussed, highlighting the continued need for trauma-informed, patient-centered practice.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Describe the role of forensic nursing as newly defined.
2. Learn how this role can impact health and legal outcomes for patients who have experienced trauma, violence, or maltreatment.
