Abstract
Although the role of the doula has existed globally for decades, there is still much speculation regarding the doula's function. Lack of understanding can lead to conflict in the intrapartum setting. Educational sessions were utilized to increase nurses' knowledge with the goal of improving collaboration between nurses and doulas.
