Vulnerable captivity and the meaning of the experience of antepartum bed rest: Beyond postpartum

A phenomenological study was done to extract the meaning mothers ascribe to their hospitalized antepartum bed rest experiences. Fifteen semi structured interviews were done with seven themes emerging. The overarching theme of Vulnerable Captivity was discovered and upon application to each theme, evidence of a vulnerably captive state was identified.
