Abstract
Opioid abuse is at epidemic proportions in the US among adolescents. In Rhode Island, the overdose death rate is comparable to several larger states. The review identifies risk factors of vulnerable adolescents and reviews common factors to enhance a public health initiative for the preventive education surrounding opioid abuse/mortality.
